Linear-Toffee

I think it's finally time to push that two year old journal off the front page! And it's also time to start pushing myself to draw things again. 2013 wasn't a great year for various reasons, but hopefully 2014 will be better!

So I'm thinking of challenging myself to draw another fight/story sequence as I enjoyed coming up with the comic for the Willowhill tournament linear-toffee.deviantart.com/a… and the Moss Vs Knight fight linear-toffee.deviantart.com/a…

Hopefully this project will help get me motivated again.

If anyone has a preference on which characters I should use or any advise on styles and ways to approach action sequences then I'd love to hear them

11 Things about Me-

1: I talk to myself, or more usually I rant to myself when I'm annoyed. Not sure if I'm just verbalising my thoughts for clarity or I'm just that lonely, lol.
2: Back in school I used to have a few friends (or a bunch of different people I hung out with at least) but since leaving school I've realised I prefer only having a couple of friends I really get on with instead of a bunch that I don't actually like much.
3: I find it very difficult to cancel things or call in sick to work. Last year I walked almost two hours to get to work when snow made the roads impassable, because I didn't think it was serious enough to stay home.
4: I used to be a bass player in a band. I don't have great rythum and was not a very good bass player, but it was fun for a while.
5: I don't like it when people assert things that aren't true. The number of times I've heard someone saying "Things were different in the past, none of this violent crime and drugs you have these days," or "Videogames are terrible, turning kids violent," and had to resist the urge to vomit in their faces.
6: I'm terrible with procrastinating. When I get home from work I always think about doing some writing or drawing, but end up just eating and watching TV or something.
7: I'm dyslexic. I've practiced a lot and it's not too noticeable when I'm reading or writing, but I'm very bad at reading aloud.
8: I haven't owned any pets for a long time. My other half has a few, and they're adorable, but I've not felt the need to get any myself.
9: Apparently I interview much better than I would have thought. I've applied to a lot of jobs, but only gotten to the interview stage four times. For two of those interviews I was offered the job. This surprised me as I think I come across as a jabbering idiot.
10: I don't really buy clothes, most of the time I get given things that other people don't want anymore. Which works well for me, as clothing costs money and I don't particularly enjoy shopping for it.
11: I don't like when these questionnaires say "you have to tag people, not just telling anybody who reads it that they can post it if they like." It assumes that I know enough people that I feel confident/comfortable tagging, and that I feel the questions were interesting enough that I want to read more answers, which isn't always the case. It detracts from the fun of the questions.

Questions for me to answer-

1: Do you prefer reading novels or comics? Novels. I love comics, but there is always going to be something special about novels for me.
2: How often are naughty things on your mind? A few times each day. Can be a hell of a lot more depending on what's going on that day
3: Favourite eye colour? It really depends on the person. Grey is always nice, but doesn't work well on everyone, lol.
4: Do you like waffles? Yes, yes I do.
5: Do you watch Adult swim? I didn't get the network that had Adult Swim over here, but I've seen a few of the programs from that slot.
6: Do you cuss? If so how often? Not very often in general conversation. But I do swear a lot with a couple of people, and I will start swearing liberally when I'm annoyed.
7: How well do you know internet memes? I don't.
8: What do you do when you have to fart in public? Fart. But try to be discreet about it, lol.
9: Favourite snack food? Bombay Mix.
10: How much sleep do you usually get? Not much. I usually vary between two and six hours a night. But I know people who sleep much less, so I can't complain too much.
11: Do you bite your nails? Not very often, but I used to bite them all the time. My front teeth are slightly chipped and biting my nails was going to make it worse, so I stopped.

Trisha Knight, suggested by

1: Her mother is Nigerian and she can speak Igbo fluently. Trisha was born in Oxford and usually speaks with Received Pronunciation, but sometimes her mother's Nigerian or her Father's Birmingham accent will slip in.

2: She ran away from home when she was fifteen after her older sister broke her arm with a hammer. The arm was already in plaster when she left and healed pretty well despite the far from ideal conditions of living on the street.

3: She has an eleven-year-old daughter, Elizabeth Evans. Elizabeth lives with her father most of the year, but spends every summer with Trisha, travelling the world or just spending time together.

4: She is very active. Outside of the training and exercise she puts in for her work, she runs marathons and climbs mountains for charity. Her stamina and endurance are incredibly high.

5: There is a scar beneath her right breast where she was stabbed intervening in a mugging when she was nineteen.

6: She is very passionate about standing up for people and fighting those that cause harm. Before she gained her mystical powers, she was training to become a police officer. She donates a lot of her time and money to charitable causes.

7: She has never been in a relationship that's lasted more than eighteen months. Despite being very sociable, affable and good to her friends, she's never enjoyed the level of intimacy that comes from being in a relationship.

8: Despite the BDSM rumours that people started after seeing the leather-and-metal body-armour she wears for work, her fetish leans towards being pampered. Her ideal night involves rose petals, silk sheets and someone delivering soft, sweet pleasure to her.

9: Although she never saw the attraction to videogames when she was growing up, Trisha spends a lot of time playing them these days because Elizabeth loves them.

Temperance, suggested by

1: Temperance was frequently mistaken for a boy until she was seventeen. She was tall, lanky and had a strong, masculine jaw.

2: She is naturally blonde, but dyes her hair ginger, black or red to distance herself from her fair-haired and disapproving family.

3: She has been a bully since kindergarten. She would steal toys and lunch-money from every child in her class, then every child in her year, then every child in the school. She should have been diagnosed as sociopathic when she was younger, but her parents refused to make her see a psychologist, simply blaming it on bad teaching methods and moving her to a new school.

4: Temperance collects Beanie Babies, and other bean-filled stuffed toys. They are one of the few items she enjoys just as collectable toys; instead of being trophies from crimes she has committed like most of her other decorations.

5: When people started paying attention to her developing body, she quickly began to flaunt her assets whenever she could. Her appearance became another thing that gave her power, and Temperance had surgery as soon as she could afford it to make herself more shocking or noticeable.

6: She has one small tattoo on her forearm. She got the ink at a boot camp before realising that she didn't enjoy permanent markings that weren't scars from victorious battles. She usually covers up the tattoo with long gloves.

7: She was once shot at by a reclusive drunk who lived near her parents. Ever since then she has hated guns and takes a great deal of pride in hurting and intimidating people with her bare hands and the occasional baseball bat.

8: She has often mused in private that the only reason she has never killed anybody yet is because she takes pleasure in knowing that her victims are still alive to be afraid of her.

9: Temperance enjoys sex as a tool for giving her more power over people. She doesn't care about the gender or appearance of her 'partner' just so long as she is the one in control.
